It’s easy to stay grounded in the physical world. Just tilt your head and gaze at the sky, brush your hand against the grass, or pause to hear the birds overhead. As humans, we’re automatically plugged into the physical. But tuning into the psychic or energetic realm is different. Some people are born with that connection already open. Others need to search for the outlet, plug in, and activate the line themselves. The good news? That connection is available to everyone—and here are a few gentle ways to start strengthening it.
First, remove any distractions—no barking dogs, buzzing phones, or noisy kids. Find a quiet couch and lie down. Close your eyes softly and start to listen. Notice the obvious sounds first—the hum of the fridge, the birds outside, the low drone of traffic. Then go deeper. Can you hear the fish tank bubbling in the other room? The whisper of the air conditioner? Stay in that space for as long as it feels right. Five minutes. Fifty minutes. And if you drift off to sleep, that’s okay too—it’s a sign your body truly let go.
Next, try it with your eyes. Again, make sure you’re distraction-free. Sit in a comfortable chair and simply observe. Notice the details: how the furniture lines up with the rug, how the picture frame tilts slightly on the wall, how the toys are scattered on the floor. Absorb the stillness. Be present in the visual details of your world.
Then, when you’re ready, take a pen and paper and sit at a table or desk. Write down a question that’s been on your mind. It could be about a relationship, a job change, or even what to do this weekend. Close your eyes, breathe deeply, and begin to relax—start with your forehead, then your eyes, jaw, shoulders, and so on, all the way down to your feet. When you’re fully relaxed, open your eyes and begin to write. Don’t judge or edit. Let the words flow. It might feel like you’re thinking through the pen, or your mind may stay quiet while your hand keeps writing. Trust it. Let the message come through. When you feel finished, stop and read what you’ve written. You may surprise yourself.
Finally, try asking for something simple in the moment. Maybe it’s for the car ahead of you to switch lanes. Maybe you want to find a quarter, or score the perfect parking space. Whatever it is, say it clearly: “I want that car to change lanes.” Then visualize it as if it’s already happened. See the car moving. See the coin glinting on the sidewalk. Feel the satisfaction of pulling into that parking spot.
Connecting psychically doesn’t have to be hard. In fact, the more you tell yourself it’s easy, the easier it becomes. Don’t let doubt or frustration take over—they’ll only attract more of the same. Instead, celebrate every little moment of alignment. Be grateful for what comes through. And let that connection grow stronger, day by day.
Wishing you clarity, connection, and ease on your journey.
